A new business programme for Northern Ireland called ‘The Profit Margin’ which has been launched by experienced broadcaster and former BBC Business Editor Jim Fitzpatrick will be aired weekly on the Q Network across Northern Ireland – targeting its 117,000 weekly listeners. ‘The Profit Margin’ which is sponsored by First Trust Bank is a 30min audio programme that focuses on issues relevant to the business community in Northern Ireland and targets anyone with an interest in local business matters. With this new regional reach provided by the Q Network it is aiming to cover business issues and stories relevant to companies and organisations across all NI counties. As well as now being able to listen to it every Saturday morning on the six Q Network stations, listeners can access the show on a weekly basis directly via iTunes podcast, Soundcloud, Twitter, Facebook and email subscription. Speaking about the latest development for ‘The Profit Margin’ Jim Fitzpatrick said: “‘The Profit Margin seeks to fill the business and economics coverage gap we have within the mainstream broadcast media across Northern Ireland. While it is a champion for business interests it is designed to be tough and challenging, controversial and engaging, The Profit Margin is already breaking new ground in the digital space and I’m looking forward to extending our reach with the Q Network. We are interested in business issues and how they are affecting people right across Northern Ireland and the Q partnership gives us a great opportunity to reach a new and exciting audience.” Listeners can expect analysis and insight about a range of issues relevant to the local business community as well as a more in depth look at the business news making the headlines each week. The programme will feature analysis around key business issues from a team of experts as well as a regular ‘Business of the Week slot featuring businesses from right across Northern Ireland. It will also invite local start ups and entrepreneurs to send in their own 30sec ‘Elevator Pitch’ with the best one chosen to be broadcast as a part of the show. The programme will combine fresh insight and engaging guests in an accessible format to suit individual consumption needs.
