Carlingford named best place to live

Tourist haven Carlingford has been voted best place to live in Ireland according to an Irish community rating site. The coastal town in Co Louth was voted the best town based on categories law and order, economy and jobs, environment schools local services, sense of community and cost of living. Website likeplace.ie gave it a score of 4.5 out of 5 compared with 2.8 for Dublin. Posters to the site praised the restaurants and scenic setting. One comment read: “I consider myself extremely lucky to live in this place – whether you prefer sailing, fishing, golfing or simply eating out, Carlingford has it all.” Another poster wrote: “Hidden gem – off the beaten path but close to everything – during the weekend very busy and lively.”
