Chamber to host MP ED Balls

To celebrate its 120th anniversary Newry Chamber of Commerce and Trade wil be hosting a business lunch with guest of honour Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer Ed Balls. The business lunch takes place on October 11 from 12 noon to 2pm at the Canal Court Hotel. Chamber President Cathal Austin said:” Ed Balls is widely regarded as one of the most important and influential political figures in the UK; his commitment to speak in Newry at this event will help profile our city on a national stage and provide us with a unique opportunity to promote our vibrant business community.” Newry woman Dearbhail McDonald who is legal editor at the Irish Independent will be questioning the MP on issues such as tackling the recession and Labour policies to promote economic growth during an interview at the event.
