City firm thanked by Trust

The Prince’s Trust in Northern Ireland has celebrated the fourth anniversary of the launch of the Get Into Construction programme by presenting Newry Firm O’Hare and McGovern with a commemorative plaque to thank them for their continued support. The six week programme offers pre-employment skills, accredited training and qualifications to young people who want to forge careers in the construction industry. Eamon O’Hare Managing Director of O’Hare and McGovern explained the firm’s involvement: “As a company we have been a member of the Construction Leadership Partnership working with the Price’s Trust for over four years. During this time we provided work placements for over 12 apprentices and long term job opportunities. We are currently providing a total of two Prince’s Trust apprentice placements for joiners at our construction site at Carrick Primary School, Warrenpoint and Apex Housing, Newcastle. We have a structured framework in place to provide support and guidance for our Apprentices. Our Training Manager monitors the Apprentice’s progress to ensure they are obtaining mentoring from a skilled craftsman; correct level of experience and training; understanding of the skills required to progress through the various levels of the Apprenticeship Programme.” Further information about the Prince’s Trust is available at www.princes-trust.org.uk or on 0800 842 842
