Newry and Mourne Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) has formerly launched a Community Safety Warden Initiative. The PCSP has identified the need to address the level of night time related accidents and attacks often fuelled by alcohol. As part of a multi-faceted approach to addressing this Wardens will be on place for a trial period. Other initiatives include the Just add Water campaign promoted by the Civic Alcohol and Drugs Forum and the Get Home Safe Advice Campaign. The Wardens who were in place over the busy Christmas period will be a visible presence at weekends throughout January and February. Use it if you feel vulnerable for example if you get separated from your friends contact the wardens for support.
