NEWRY will play host to an Employer Awareness Breakfast Event onThursday 27th September 2012.
This free event has been organised by the Department for Employment and Learning in partnership with Newry and Mourne District Council and is open to all businesses in the Newry and surrounding areas.
The venue is theCanal Court, Merchants Quay, Newry from8amto9.30am.
Employers will be given an overview of the range of services available to them from the Department for Employment and Learning, including Steps to Work, Pathways, Investors in People, ApprenticeshipsNI, Bridge to Employment and Management and Leadership programmes.
Other organisations such as Newry and Mourne District Council, The Equality Commission, Labour Relations Agency, Invest NI, Health and Safety at Work,DEL, Careers Service, Wade Training, Parity and Business in the Community will be in attendance to provide advice and guidance to all companies in attendance.
Highlighting the benefits to local businesses, Clare Mooney, Employer Contact Manager for the Department for Employment and Learning said “Employers will be able to learn first hand about the range of opportunities available, whether wishing to improve workplace learning, address skills gaps, enhance management techniques or simply to recruit new staff with the assistance of our website and employer subsidies”.
The guest speaker at the event isEamonn Connolly,MDof a young award winning company, SIPFIT. The company manufacture Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) which are a sustainable Modern Method of Construction manufactured off-site. They provide solutions for rapid build low carbon buildings.
Their primary market is GB and the company are aiming to grow in international market. Eamonn will provide an overview on howDEL’s programmes have been of benefit to his company.
Employers are invited to register early as places are limited. A light breakfast will be provided.
