Six high quality jobs are to be created in Newry over the next two years by Dublin software development company Shot Clip. The firm will shift their base from Dublin to Newry in a move which has been welcomed by Invest NI Executive Director of International Business Barry McBride. “Shot Clip is the kind of innovative technology company that has the potential to be a world player,” said Mr McBride. The recently established company has created social movie making software that enables users to plan, record and edit a professional looking movie through an interactive story building app on their smart phone or tablet device. The software enables multiple users to collaborate to make movies at special events such as a wedding or for large scale global crowd campaigns. Invest NI have contributed £48k of financial support towards the jobs. The salaries on offer will be significantly above the Northern Ireland average. The founder and Managing Director of Shot Clip, Conor McNally has outlined that the aim for his company is to make it a mass market global product with one million users by the end of 2015. “That will require an extensive marketing campaign as well as further development of the product. We will therefore be employing skilled technical, design and market professionals,” said Mr McNally.
