EU Funded Programme – Space & Place – Application for grant now open

The Space & Place Programme is a £15million, 5 year capital grants project that supports local communities to connect people by developing under-used, contested and/or difficult spaces.

The Space & Place Consortium, headed up by the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland want the programme to improve the health and well-being of local people, supporting them to participate and engage more fully in their communities.
By reclaiming and transforming derelict and neglected spaces and places local people can improve their local environment and provide a range of activities that will encourage more people to play a part in their communities. The Space & Place Consortium want local people to be involved in identifying projects in their communities which will ensure a sense of ownership and lead to the development of new skills, ideas and connections.

The programme could fund a project to create a community garden and allotments in the grounds of a community venue, or a project to turn a derelict area into a mini park with cycle paths and walkways where people can meet and enjoy their local spaces and places.

Applications for this programme are now being accepted. For further information please see the attached brochure or please visit – www.communityfoundationni.org/SpaceandPlace
