First Aid at Work

Health Matters’ Managing Director Mary Doran was delighted to present the current Maiden of the Mournes with a First Aid at Work certificate. Qualifying with the HSENI accredited 3 day certificate in July Maiden Margaret Murphy said that she considered First Aid and invaluable skill that should be made mandatory at all public events. “Since becoming Maiden of the Mourne in August 2014 I have been delighted to attend this First Aid Course and it will be most definitely very useful within my workplace and everyday life. This has made me very much aware of the necessity for a fully trained first aider to be present at all public events. Ms Doran echoed these sentiments and explained the importance of having First Aid Training at all public events. “As a registered nurse and the director of a health and safety training company I am constantly aware at public events of the First Aid attendance and I do note at many such events that no First Aiders are present or it may be the case where we First Aiders are on site it is not evident to those in attendance that they are present. I follow the Maiden of the Mourne event every year and I am aware that these lovely ladies are present at numerous events on a weekly or monthly basis. Therefore I thought it would be an excellent opportunity for our current Maiden Margaret to attend training and gain valuable skills which she will have once her maiden duties have ended this month.” Health Matters (Health and Safety) Ltd offer a vast range of training courses across all workplaces and public sectors and they also have a sister company Health Matters (Occupational Health) Ltd who provide a full remit of Occupational Health services.
