Fiveways Fun Day

The Fiveways in Newry was always a port of call for people travelling from Belfast to Dublin and it was a welcome stop in the long journey before the M1 and Newry bypass were developed. Fiveways with 175 full and part time staff has grown from a 1500 sq ft shop in 1988 to a 4,000 sq ft convenience store in 1995 to a 6,000 sq ft temporary store in 2009 and following a major refurbishment in 2011 to a 10,000 sq ft supermarket incorporating an in store off-licence, butchery, deli and food to go departments and Texaco forecourt (with electric charging point) as well as new bakery and diner. Take away Sunday lunches are also in popular demand from the hot food counter and we are currently in the process of opening up a new diner. Behind every successful business is a professional team of staff who are trained to a high standard and we have achieved a Food Hygiene rating of 5 by Environmental Health. Our main aim is to be first choice for customers every time. To celebrate its first anniversary in its new premises Fiveways is holding a Fun Day on Saturday July 28 hosted by Five FM Radio Roadshow. We hope to have a fun-filed day with face painters, balloon shaper and children’s transfer artist. Mr Tayto and other characters will be there too entertain and distribute free giveaways to the children. Shoppers can also avail of entry into a free prize draw.
