Business leaders in Warrenpoint want to establish an economic taskforce to stimulate trade and tourism in the seaside town. WBR Chamber President Jim Boylan was speaking following a recent spate of business closures in the town but said rather than giving up traders in the town were resolved to fight back. “It is sad that a number of places have closed but we do need to find the positives ,” he said. There has to be a focussed fight back. The Chamber will be seeking with Council and Government Departments about job losses and the economy and how we can move forward. Hopefully we can set up and economic task force. There are a lot of good people in Warrenpoint and the surrounding area who are prepared to fight for the town. Everybody in the area needs to stand up and say what about us. We need to stand up and say we aren’t accepting this.
