The Life Sciences Supply Chain project aims to facilitate the establishment of a cluster of micro, small and medium sized enterprises which have the capacity, capability and confidence to service many of the needs of major life sciences companies (e.g. Almac, Randox, Heartsine, Intelesens, Clonallon Laboratories) within the East Border Region, thereby replacing products / services which are at present typically sourced from outside the region.
This project is funded by the European Union’s INTERREG IVA Cross Border programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body in partnership with East Border Region Ltd and local councils.
This programme is particularly suitable for the following types of companies: Design and Manufacturing, Plastics and Metals, Fabrication and Contract Manufacturers, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, Software Development Services and Transport companies. The Life Sciences Supply Chain project will work with micro and SME’s to provide them with the capability and key expertise in the following areas:
- The knowledge, analysis and decision making techniques to allow them to assess growth opportunities.
- An understanding of the Life and Health Sciences sector and the development of a market entry strategy.
- Strategies to navigate regulatory pathways and enhance procurement/purchase of products and/or services.
- A significant development in their business models, uncover new innovative solutions and access new opportunities and markets.
- Assistance in gaining the accreditations required by the Life Science sector.
Successful participant micro and SME’s will be added to a preferred supplier list and the project will work closely with major life sciences companies to ensure they receive opportunities to bid for contracts and sell services globally within the sector.
