A group from the district will travel to Toulouse next week to develop aerospace connections between the two regions. According to Dr Conor Patterson of Newry and Mourne Enterprise Agency, “The group will be meeting Airbus, the Chamber of Commerce and the University of Toulouse.” The outgoing group includes representatives from the Enterprise Agency, local lecturers from Queen’s University (John Bardon and Joseph Butterfield ), Kilkeel Development Association (Pamela Houston), Newry Council and a delegation for four companies brought together from Louth County Council. “The event is a chance to lever opportunities in the aerospace industry,” Dr Patterson said. “There are currently up to 1000 people in the district working in the aerospace sector.”
