Community Advice Newry, Mourne and Down covers the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council area with the Newry Office based in the Ballybot House, Newry.
They provide Free, Confidential, Independent Advice & Information to help people overcome their problems. Some of these include Debt, Tax, Housing Employment & Benefit related issues. They also work to fix the underlying cause of these problems and are a voice for people on issues that matter most to them.
The organisation has 5 full-time and 10 part-time staff and they also have 18 volunteers and are managed by a Voluntary Trustee Board. Their Service is delivered through a number of channels which include Telephone Advice, Face-to-Face Advice, Email Advice and they also provide outreach clinics in Crossmaglen, Kilkeel, Daisy Hill Hospital and Southern Area Hospice once a week.
They have a Debt Adviser and a Tribunal Adviser who supports clients who have been turned down for a benefit. In the last financial year, the organisation supported over 25,000 people in the Council Area provided Debt Support to the value of £2.5m and represented 300 clients at Tribunal.
