Two Ulster Unionist MLAs have pledged their support fro Daisy Hill Hospital following a recent visit. Newry and Armagh MLA Dannny Kennedy and John McCallister who represents South Down visited the hospital on Friday after which Mr Kennedy said: ” We met with a number of key personnel including the chair of the Health Trust and hospital staff and we took the opportunity to visit the refurbished Accident and Emergency and Renal Care Units both of which have been upgraded. ” We were both very impressed by the excellent care and facilities which are offered by Daisy Hill and we have an on-going commitment to retain and improve services at Daisy Hill and we pledge to work to see how these services can be preserved and enhanced. We are acutely aware of the value placed on Daisy Hill by the local and wider community and are pledged to support proposals to retain its important status,” Mr Kennedy added.
