Lobbying is continuing towards securing the Narrow Water Bridge. That’s the pledge from Sinn Fein’s MEP Martina Henderson who was speaking during a recent visit to the south Down constituency. “The Narrow Water Bridge is a major infrastructural project that has the support of the Special EU Programmes Body, in fact it has been flagged up as having achieved one of the highest scores for a European infrastructural project on the island of Ireland,” she said. “Despite the recent set back I am determined to ensure the project will be completed and am regularly updated by my colleagues in the constituency. I will be lobbying the SEUPB to ensure that the funding for the bridge is ring fenced and all other possible European revenue streams are exhausted to finance this project sop that it can be completed in the current time frame. I will continue to work with everyone involved in this project as I see it as being a major economic catalyst for the area.”
