(OFF-STREET CAR PARKING CHARGES) ORDER 2016
Notice is hereby given that Newry, Mourne and Down District Council will on 1 April 2016 amend the Off-Street car parking charges as cited below.
The changes to the charges will come into force from 1 April 2016 and continue until further notice. Off-Street car parks which are currently free to park in will not be affected by the Order at this time.
Whereas the charge of £1 for 5 hours introduced by the Minister for Regional Development in six Off-Street car parks in Newry, Mourne and Down District was a Pilot Scheme, Newry, Mourne and Down District Council has agreed at a meeting of Council on 10 February 2016 and by means of this Order to implement the charge of £1 for 3 hours until further notice in the following Off-Street car parks:
- Abbey Way Multi-storey/Lower Water Street, Newry
- Basin Walk, Newry
- Canal Bank 2, Newry (Adjacent to Bus Station)
- Monaghan Street, Newry
- New Street, Newry
- Irish Street, Downpatrick
The tariffs displayed in the aforementioned charged Off-Street car parks will remain in the event of the £1 for 3 hours charge not being ed.
In addition the Council intends to change the tariff from 50p/hour to 40p/hour for the off street car park at Irish Street, Downpatrick.
A copy of this Notice and a list of the charged Off-Street car parks affected, may be inspected at the Council Offices at O’Hagan House, Monaghan Row, Newry,BT35 8DJ and at the Downshire Civic Centre, Downshire Estate, Ardglass Road, Downpatrick, BT30 6GQ.
