The Chancellor Philip Hammond delivered his first and final spring Budget on Wednesday 8 March, against a Brexit backdrop. He has made announcements on the NHS and social care and help for businesses hit by the rates increase. There was also a National Insurance increase for the self-employed and a raft of new education commitments.
Other key points relate to the reduction in the dividend allowance for individuals, an increase in the personal allowance and the basic rate band, reduction in the CT rate and the delay in making tax digital until April 2019.
