Planting the SEEDs of growth

An information workshop on the supply chain opportunities offered b y the renewable energy sector is being held in Warrenpoint this week. Organised by Energy Connections an initiative of the six South East Economic Development (SEED) councils, the event will assist small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in tak9ing advantage of the renewable energy industry, a growth economic area. Patricia Devlin Energy Connections NI Regional Coordinator said the event would provide SMEs with invaluable information and assistance. “This workshop is the first of a series we will be holding for local businesses to explain to them how renewable energy can be an economic driver and how their business can be and important part of this as suppliers,” she said. “The opportunity for small and medium sized businesses to work in the renewable sector is huge and Energy Connections, NI Anglo Fisheries Producer Organisation and a ion of local businesses. Also in attendance will be Invest NI, Newry and Mourne District Council and Smart Eco Hub. The workshop takes place in Warrenpoint Town Hall on Wednesday May 29 at 5.30pm and is open to all businesses in the Newry and south Down areas.
