The second Positive Ageing Week will run from October 7 to 13 and the focus of the week is to celebrate and promote the positive aspects of growing old and to help older people make connections in their local communities. Events that will be taking place include tea dances, pitch and putt, bridge night, knit and natter morning and much more. Positive Ageing Week has been jointly organized by the Southern Health and Social Care Trust, Newry and Mourne District Council, the Co-operation and Working Together (CAWT) Older People’s Project, Newry and Mourne Senior Citizen’s Consortium, Volunteer, Newry University of the Third Age and the Confederation of Community Groups. Financial support has been provided by the European Union’s INTERREG IVA funding secured by CAWT, Senior Citizen’s Consortium and Newry and Mourne District Council.
