Secret Santas Wanted

Newry Junior Chamber has launched its 8th Secret Santa Appeal. Christmas Trees decorated with gift cards with the name and age of hundreds of local children who are in need of Secret Santas this Christmas have been placed in the Buttercrane Shopping Centre and The Quays Shopping Centre. Shoppers are invited to choose a card and gift for a child returning it to the collection points. Newry Junior Chamber Vice President Martina Murtagh said the initiative was stronger than ever. “We work closely with a number of local charities to identify children of all ages for whom Christmas may not be that special die to a number of reasons,” she said. “The response to our last seven Secret Santa Appeals have been truly amazing and we are hopeful that the people of Newry and the surrounding area will once again demonstrate their generosity and kind heartedness especially this year when demands on charities are so big.” Gifts should be returned to the location you took the card from by Sunday December 23. Any charities that feel they could benefit from the appeal should contact Newry Junior Chamber on g.short@castleweay.ie , Stephen@oharestrucks.com , tina_murtagh@hotmail.com or call 028 3026 1272
