With changes set to take effect from the end of the month a briefing session will take place for some of the people likely to be the first users of the service. According to new chief executive Liam Hannaway, “There are sessions next week in Newry and Downpatrick for agents and architects – the people who will be using the service the most,” he said. Mr Hannaway added that politicians were already availing of training sessions to bring them up to speed with their new responsibilities. “Politics has never been involved in planning like this,” he said. “Over the last three committee meetings we have been setting out what it is about. We had 30 members at a training event in Craigavon last night (Wednesday, September 10).”
