Fantastic morning at our ‘Corporate Patrons Healthy Hike’ on Friday 15th May in Kilbroney Forest Park, Rostrevor which was facilitated by our member, Positive Steps Outdoors (PSO).
The hike took place in ‘Mental Health Awareness Week’ and began at the Cloughmore Centre where our Corporate Patrons enjoyed tea, coffee and scones and meeting fellow attendees.
Alan Elwood from PSO provided an introductory safety and wellbeing briefing and led the group off on a gentle guided hike through the trails of Kilbroney Forest Park.
We were blessed with the weather and those in attendance were rewarded with magnificent views across the Mournes, Carlingford Lough and the Cooley Peninsula, with lots of craic along the way with existing relationships strengthened and new ones made.
The walk concluded back at the Cloughmore Centre with the group leaving having enjoyed not only the physical benefits of gentle activity outdoors, but also valuable opportunities for relaxation, conversation and connection in a spectacular natural setting.
We would like to thank our Corporate Patrons who took part in the hike and to Alan, Peter and Gillian from the PSO team, a superb local social enterprise specialising in guided wellbeing walks and nature-based experiences for facilitating and you can find out more about them via their website below.
