The Matt D’arcy Distillery, Monaghan Street (currently at The Armagh Down Bar) As you may already be aware, our Chamber President, Michael McKeown and Sole Proprietor of the reborn Matthew D’arcy & Company Limited, has formally submitted a planning application to build a Craft Micro Distillery & Visitor Centre on the old distillery site on Monaghan Street. The scheme is designed to protect the appearance of the former distillery 19th Century building. The distillery, which will provide a number of new jobs, will have the capacity to produce around 9,000 cases a year of Old Newry Whiskey single malt.

We are immensely proud of Michael on his very ambitious vision for this site which will be welcomed as a key catalyst for regeneration in this city and region.

We are delighted therefore, that Michael has extended a warm welcome to members of the Chamber to visit the site and to hear about the history and future plans for The Matt D’arcy Distillery.
