DATE: Thursday 10th September 2020
TIME: 12:30pm – 1:30pm
The second of our Brexit Support Webinars in partnership with InterTradeIreland, will examine Brexit and the Services Sector.
In 2018, it is estimated that the NI Services Sector had external sales (sales made outside of NI) of £6.5bn with around £2.5bn of those sales being exports (sales made outside of GB and NI).
Graeme Belshaw, from the Department of the Economy NI, will present on research commissioned by the Department on the potential impacts on NI’s Tradable Services Sector, as a result of the UK’s exit from the EU.
The research examines and analyses the non-tariff and technical barriers to trade which could emerge in a number of EU exit scenarios, including if the UK were to sign a trade deal similar to the EU-Canada (CETA) arrangements and services have to trade on WTO terms.
We will also be joined by Feargal McCormack, MD of PKF-FPM. He will discuss his company’s experience and the contingency steps taken to operate within the Services Sector on both sides of the border.
The Service Sector is not covered by the NI Protocol.
If you operate in the Services Sector, this informative session will be essential planning in your business preparation for the end of the transition period.
