Book your FREE place for the first instalment of the year of our ‘Business Tours’ networking series which gives you the inside view of a wide range of local businesses.
This Business Tour takes place at the stunning Killeavy Castle Estate, nestled in the South Armagh countryside at the foot of Slieve Gullion. With a focus on their sustainable ethos, the event will showcase how Killeavy Castle Estate are at the forefront of the green tourism movement in Ireland.
The event will feature three expert speakers from organisations who are leading the way on the road to net zero. Guests will enjoy breakfast, network with other Chamber members, hear how you can implement your own sustainability strategy and ask questions.
You will also be able to work around the grounds of the Estate to see first-hand how they have embraced responsible business practices.
SPEAKERS:
Jason Foody, General Manager at Killeavy Castle Estate
Presentation: ‘Get Closer to What’s Important’
Jason Foody will discuss how their focus on sustainability and responsible business is central to their customer experience.
Jason will highlight how they have implemented innovative practices throughout the estate to continuously lower their carbon footprint. Their ultimate ambition is to achieve net zero.
Dr Lisa McIlvenna, Deputy MD, Business in the Community NI (BITC NI)
Presentation: The ‘What, Why and How’ of Sustainability?
Lisa is an adjunct faculty member at Queen’s University, Belfast, where she previously completed her PhD. Lisa specialises in helping organisations integrate CR and sustainability with their broader business strategy.
She believes business is, and should be, a force for good and led on the creation of BITC’s ground-breaking tool to help companies measure and benchmark their corporate responsibility activity, CORE: The Standard for Responsible Business.
Lisa is a member of B Lab’s European Regional Advisory Group and an Advisory Board member of The Centre for Leadership, Ethics and Organisation at Queen’s University, Belfast.
Chris Martin, Head of Sustainability at Danske Bank UK
Presentation: ‘Thriving in a Sustainable Future’
Chris has over 25 years’ experience in financial services with a background in retail, corporate banking and strategy roles. He is responsible for the development and delivery of a comprehensive sustainability strategy and net zero outcome for Danske Bank’s UK operations.
This includes, a focus on responding to both the risks and opportunities arising, along with developing solutions to help Danske Bank customers make the transition to a net zero future.
Chris’ presentation will focus on sustainability factors impacting on businesses and how the finance sector and Danske Bank specifically, are responding and adapting to a net zero future.
