EVENT OVERVIEW:
Delighted to announce the details of our International Women’s Day Lunch on Friday 6th March in the beautiful surroundings of Killeavy Castle Estate, kindly sponsored by Southern Regional College, KPMG and Younique Aesthetics Clinic.
We’re also excited to announce we have secured another top-class Guest Speaker, once again for this year’s event in the Newry-born Actor & Writer, Valene Kane.
Valene is known for “standout” (The Independent) and “galvanising” (The Guardian) performances in all 3 series of BBC2’s BAFTA-nominated The Fall, in which she played Jamie Dornan’s first lover, Rose Stagg as well as Lyra Erso from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Valene’s lead film roles include Netflix’s and Timur Bekmanbetov’s, Profile, 71, Sonja: The White Swan and First Person for which she won ‘Best Actress’ at the Sherman Oaks and Philadelphia Film Festivals in 2020.
Alongside her film work, Valene has built a distinguished career in television, starring in series such as Gangs of London, Blue Lights, The Winter King, Say Nothing, Hanna and Summerwear to name but a few.
Valene is equally celebrated for her stage presence, having performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company as Lady Macbeth and taking on leading roles in productions including Reunion and Miss Julie.
Alongside the Fireside Chat with our Guest Speaker, Valene and our MC, for the day, Deborah Loughran, we will also have two engaging panel discussions with some of our Chamber Board members on this year’s theme, #GiveToGain and how we, as Chamber have put in place to ensure gender equality within our own organisation.
This year, guests will also hear about the dreams, ambitions and aspirations from a panel consisting of the five Head Girls from our local schools, which include:

Guests will enjoy a prosecco and cocktails drinks reception with served in the spectacular surroundings of Killeavy Castle before proceeding into the castle pavilion for an afternoon of incredible speakers, a 3-course meal and live music from the fabulous, Newry Chamber Music and local singer-songwriter, CeeV.

This prestigious event has been the hottest ticket in town since it’s inception in 2020.
