One of Newry’s biggest employers has announced it is further to expand its workforce. Norbrook Laboratories which currently employs 1700 people at its Newry sites is to recruit 400 additional staff over the next two years. Jobs will be made available across all sectors of the company from scientific posts such as research and development to positions in production, finance, IT and sales. A spokeswoman for the company which develops and manufactures veterinary pharmaceutical products said the jobs announcement reflected the growing demand for its products and services. “Last year we recruited an additional 200 staff and we’ll be looking to recruit another 400 over the next two years. We’ll basically be recruiting flat out for the next two years,” she said. “We’re exceptionally busy and expanding rapidly and this announcement is a reflection of that.”
