A Slice of a Life by Gerard F Murphy
Manager of McCann’s Bakery, Newry 1962-1997, his story of boyhood in 1930’s and 40’s, later in 1940’s and 1950’s relates, Industrial, Cultural and Sporting memories in his native town, Keady, Co. Armagh, then traumatic experiences in 1970’s and 1980’s.
The book launch in Sheil’s Pub, Tassagh, near Keady was a night of nostalgia, music, song and story telling, thanks to the efforts of Peter Makem, Vivian and Kathleen McKee who later presented the Gold Championship Medal denied in 1953.
