Newry Chamber of Commerce & Trade offers its deepest sympathy to the families, friends and colleagues of the four gentlemen that died suddenly in the tragic accident on the 13 March.
As a local entrepreneur and leading industrialist, Lord Ballyedmond has made an immense contribution to the Newry economy. From humble beginnings, Lord Ballyedmond developed Norbrook Laboratories into a hugely successful global empire, employing approximately 2,000 people in its 3 Newry factories and creating £50m in salaries annually to the Northern Ireland economy.
Lord Ballyedmond’s legacy will also be remembered in his commitment to local education and training through Norbrook’s links to the local post primary schools and the Southern Regional College.
Norbrook over the years has continued to develop ground breaking advances in the world of pharmaceutical and veterinary medicine and through his work, Lord Ballyedmond has put Newry, the company’s Headquarters, on the world map as the home of leading veterinary pharmaceutical innovation and development.
Newry Chamber of Commerce sends its sincere condolences to the family of the other local man from Co Down who also lost his life in this dreadful tragedy; our thoughts and prayers are with all those grieving at this very sad time.
