Newry Chamber of Commerce and Trade is set to host a Let’s Talk Business Lunch with a guest speaker from the Department of Enterprise Trade and Investment (DETI) next month. Members of the local business community are being invited to the event where a senior member of the Executive will outline the government’s plans for rebuilding the northern economy. The event will also feature a question and answer session between delegates chaired by journalist Marc Mallet. Cathal Austin President of Newry Chamber of Commerce said he was delighted to host the event. “This will be an important business dinner and networking event for our members and the wider business community,” he said. “The economic environment continues to be challenging for local businesses; it is therefore vital that local business leaders gain an insight on how the Assembly intends to deal with the situation and to have the opportunity to debate the issue.” Seamus Regional Director of Lagan Construction who are sponsoring the event said he felt it was important to support such initiatives. “There are many challenges ahead for Government and commerce alike and we are sure this will prove to be a very interesting event,” he said. The Let’s Talk Business Lunch takes place on Wednesday March 14 in the Canal Court Hotel. Tickets are £20 for Newry Chamber members and £30 for non-members and can be booked by calling 028 3025 0303 or emailing info@tng1.arrowhitech.net
