The Achievements of over 140 Southern Regional College ‘Employ Me’ students were celebrated a at recent event hosted at Bellini’s in Newry. Students receiving certificates attended courses on all six campuses in Armagh, Banbridge, Kilkeel, Lurgan, Newry and Portadown. Mayor John McArdle, Cllr Charlie Casey, Margaret McCabe, Jobs and Benefits Office, local employers and Southern Regional College staff gathered to congratulate the students on their success. In partnership with over 100 local businesses Employ Me provides pathways into work to people of all ages helping local people get jobs in a range of sectors including construction, Engineering, Finance, Hospitality, IT and Retail. Students attend on a part-time basis over 25 weeks and in addition to undertaking vocational qualifications students get additional training in Maths and English and obtain careers information and advice.
