Emma Bohill Appointed New CEO of Down Business Centre

Congratulations to Emma Bohill on her recent appointment as the new CEO of Down Business Centre (DBC), the Local Enterprise Agency based in Downpatrick.

Emma joins DBC from her previous position as Head of Human Relations at the Eight5Zero Group in Castlewellan.

Prior to that role, Emma gained wide-ranging experience working as a self-employed consultant and in various private and public sector organisations, she brings a track record of driving growth and of fostering collaborative partnerships.

Emma joins the DBC as it embarks on an ambitious strategy aimed at increasing its support for new and existing businesses across the region and ensuring the voice of local entrepreneurs is at the forefront of local and central government policies.

DBC’s range of business support advisory sessions and the delivery of programmes to assist business owners is extensive.

As a member of Enterprise Northern Ireland, the company participates in nationally funded programmes, such as the Go Succeed Programme, which it delivers in the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Area.

It also runs a monthly e-zine magazine, which is delivered electronically to over 5,000 business owners and aimed at ensuring they are provided with the latest news and updates on issues affecting their businesses.

Future plans include extending the DBC’s property portfolio for business lettings and undertaking a lead role on sustainability and social responsibility issues.

Michael Morrissey, Chairman of Down Business Centre said:

“Emma joins us at a very important time for the organisation. As a Board, we have recently developed an ambitious new business strategy, one that will see us significantly increase our support and service offer to the local business community.”

“I have every confidence that Emma will lead our team in meeting our objectives and in doing so, increase our reach and engagement with all sectors of our community.”

Emma Bohill, CEO of Down Business Centre (DBC) added:

“This organisation has helped thousands of businesses over the years and I look forward to building on the knowledge and experience that exists within the DBC team and working in partnership with all our stakeholders and the local business community.”

“We have exceptional entrepreneurs and businesses across the mid-Down area and I look forward to supporting and advocating for them and to driving sustainability and economic growth for the future.”

We look forward to working closely with Emma in months and years ahead and we wish her all the very best as she embarks on her new role at the helm of DBC.
