EU Conference in Newry – Potential Business Opportunities – Public Meeting

Sticky Fingers Early Years Children’s Arts have successfully secured the bid to host a major European Children’s Conference to be held in Newry from the 5th February – 9th February 2014.

Approximately 350-400 delegates from across the European Union will be staying in Newry for the duration of the conference.  This conference brings with it €1m of external investment into the Newry economy.

There are planned activities, meetings and excursions organised for the visitors during their stay as part of the Conference programme.

However, there will be ‘down time’ in which local businesses, retailers, restaurateurs, night-time economy and service sector organisations should avail of potential business opportunities that the visitors can bring to Newry and the surrounding area.

Sticky Fingers, Newry Chamber of Commerce and Newry City Centre Management are hosting a public meeting to inform local businesses about the plans for the EU Children’s Conference in the hope of providing ideas and inspiration to local businesses on how to attract the visitors into their shops, businesses, restaurants, etc during their stay in Newry.

Meeting details as follows:

DATE:                       Thursday, 9th January 2014

TIME:                        3.30pm

VENUE:                    Carroll Gallery, Sean Hollywood Arts Centre

This Conference provides a great opportunity for you as a business owner to avail of potential increased footfall through your door at a traditionally quiet time of year.  It is within your interest to attend this meeting.
