The countdown has begun to the eagerly awaited Legacy Concert on Sunday March 29 to m ark the historic end of the current Newry and Mourne District Council. The free open-air concert will commence at 3pm outside Newry Town Hall and will feature a number of high class performers including Home Town, Derek Ryan, The High Kings, Michelle Magee, The HouseM8s and The Professionals. UTV’s Paul Clark will act as compere and there will be a range of Children’s on street entertainment provided. In the best interests of all spectators on the evening Newry and Mourne District Council’s Events Committee would like to advise people attending the concert of the following important information:
Traffic restrictions will be in operation from 1pm on the day. Kildare Street, Hill Street and The Mall will be closed to Traffic until 8pm that evening. There will be car parking available at North Street car park, Canal Bank 2 and Downshire Road car park. Any children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. In the event of a missing child please report to the nearest security/steward in yellow bibs who will deal with the situation immediately. In the interests of safety for everyone attending the concert you are requested to cooperate with security/ event stewards at all times. This is a free concert and no tickets are required to attend the event. As this is a family friendly event it will be an alcohol free zone.
