Major award for city firm

 Newry based company has scooped a major award at the third annual In Business Editor’s Choice Awards held recently in Dublin. Inter Trade Ireland the cross border body that helps SMEs with funding information advice and support received the ‘Best Service to SMEs’ award. Commenting on the level of interest among SMEs in the services offered by the agency, Margaret Hearty acting CEO of Inter Trade Ireland said: “The findings from our most recent Business Monitor Survey show that the economy is experiencing a broad based recovery. This positive economic growth is also filtering down to smaller firms of whom now have a more optimistic outlook. As an organization in 2014 we witnessed this first hand with a steady increase in the level of demand for our supports and services. We are honoured to be recognized as the best service to SMEs in Ireland.” Margaret added: “Building on these services in 2015 Inter Trade Ireland will launch a new service based around providing access to finance for SMEs. The aim of the new service is to educate SMEs on alternative finance sources available to them and how best to stimulate growth from these sources.” As the only organization which has been given responsibility by both governments to boost North/ South economic cooperation to the mutual benefit of Northern Ireland and Ireland in 2014 Inter Trade Ireland had a successful year working with SMEs across the island helping them to identify and develop trade and business opportunities.
