Clanrye Group aims to train and motivate adults with disabilities or disadvantaged backgrounds to gain qualifications and confidence to progress onto employment or onto further education.
Clanrye Group, a charitable organisation established in 1982 is one of Northern Ireland’s premier training organisations offering training opportunities for a diverse group of people.
During the last three decades, Clanrye Group has established itself as a leader in the provision of specialised training for those who are unsure about their future career direction and require guidance and considerable support.
Clanrye Group, formerly based at the Abbey in Newry has now moved to Slieve Gullion Courtyard in Killeavy. In addition to their headquarters based at Slieve Gullion Courtyard, they have now expanded and operate from sites in Newry, Portadown, Downpatrick and Armagh.
Clanrye Group’s main premises based at Slieve Gullion Courtyard, boast an impressive range of facilities. Combined with a location second to none in terms of its beauty and tranquility, it provides the perfect backdrop to their activities.
These activities include the training or re-training of individuals who have disabilities, as well as providing support for individuals and families from disadvantaged backgrounds or who may have social barriers that stand in the way of their education or employment.
The overiding objective of Clanrye Group is to work with disadvantaged people while aiding economic regeneration.
As well as offering training, Clanrye Group operate a number of Social Enterprises including Slieve Gullion Weddings, Slieve Gullion Events and Gullion Treasures. All proceeds from these enterprises are invested directly back into the training of their participants.
