Our CEO, Michael Savage paid a visit to the Newry HQ of our Corporate Patron, Haldane Fisher, one of the leading independent suppliers to the construction industry in the UK & Ireland.
He was delighted to meet with General Manager, Paul Friar who has been in post since June 2023 and Gary Cranney, Director of Sustainability and Health and Safety Lead who has been with the company for over 40 years.
Michael was given a tour of their 14-acre site located at Carnbane Industrial Estate, the group’s headquarters which is home to over 200 staff.
The has 21 branches in Northern Ireland, England and the Isle of Man, employing over 800 people in total, across the business.
The business, which was founded in 1946, incorporates Haldane Fisher – NI, Haldane Fisher – Isle of Man, Haldane Fisher – UK, GE Robinson, Plumbmaster, Prowood, Bathline and Key Hardware.
Haldane Fisher has always been great supporters of our work, as their local Chamber. Michael debriefed Paul and Gary on the Chamber’s recent successful networking visit to Washington D.C. and discussed our three core objectives for the coming years.

- Leading the lobby to address the infrastructure deficit to unlock Greater Newry’s development and investment potential.
