Over 100 business delegates and guests attended a Newry Chamber of Commerce & Trade hosted a ‘Let’s Talk’ Business lunch with a Minister Arlene Foster, Department of Enterprise, Trade & Investment on the 14 March in the Canal Court Hotel.
The event included an interview with Minister Foster facilitated by UTV’s Marc Mallet. During the interview the Minister was asked a series of questions pertinent to the Greater Newry Area; including her Department’s role in supporting local business, attracting FDI to Newry, NITB’s promotion of Newry & Mourne, how Invest NI is helping new business start up’s and the Minister’s support for the proposed Warrenpoint Marina.
President Cathal Austin, Newry Chamber of Commerce stated, ‘we were delighted to be afforded the opportunity to host this important event with Minster Foster. Newry has been long been recognised as a region of high entrepreneurial activity and business development. Today’s event focused attention on Newry and provided us with a platform to ask the Minister about what her Department is doing to assist local business get through these challenging times’.
