The colour run which attracted record numbers raised almost £13,000 supporting 23 local charities. Gemma Murphy, from the organising committee said, “We are delighted with the response to support our local charities. We are grateful to everyone who took part on behalf of their chosen charity as well as each and every one of the 150 corporate Santa Sponsors. In particular, we would like to thank all of our sponsors – we could not have done it without them’.
President Michael McKeown said ‘This event was a truely remarkable effort on behalf of the Santa Run organising committee of Newry Chamber to bring together so many people to support local charities. This again proves the generosity of the people from the greater Newry Area to help families have a better Christmas and to support organisations/charities doing tremendous work in our communities.’
