Congratulations to our member, The Whistledown Hotel in Warrenpoint who are marking 30 years in business this month.
The Whistledown welcomed its first guests in 1994 and has become a cherished landmark on the shores of Carlingford Lough, renowned for its commitment to excellence, coastal charm and guest satisfaction.
To celebrate the hotel’s 30th birthday, the Whistledown team hosted a series of events including a Bridgerton-themed 30th birthday party, a decadent ‘spill the tea’ afternoon and a range of special offers and discounts.
The Bridgerton-themed birthday party was inspired by one of the Netflix show’s main characters, Lady Whistledown. The event featured Bridgerton-themed cocktails, live entertainment and a glimpse at the hotel’s 30-year history.
In addition to the events and offers, the hotel team is also continuing its support of the local community. The Whistledown Hotel is planning a range of charity initiatives, workshops and events to give back and celebrate the support that has been instrumental in the hotel’s success over the last 30 years.
One of the community programmes run by the hotel is a forget-me-not afternoon tea, a bi-weekly event to support Alzheimer’s and Dementia patients, their families and carers.
The Whistledown Hotel’s Owners, Sarah and Colum McAvoy said:
“Reaching 30 years is a remarkable milestone and it’s all thanks to our incredible team and loyal customers. We are deeply grateful for the support we’ve received over the years.”
“Our commitment to providing outstanding service remains as strong as ever and we look forward to continuing to exceed our team’s expectations for many years to come.”
The Whistledown Hotel has achieved numerous awards throughout its history, including a double win at the recent Newry Chamber Employee & Team Awards for ‘Best Hospitality & Tourism Team’ and the Whistledown’s General Manager, Berni Lively winning ‘Best Hospitality & Tourism Employee’.
