The Quays launches community week

The Quays Shopping Centre will be hosting “The Quays in the Community” event all this week. A series of events will give shoppers an opportunity to get to know some of the vital services available in our area including charities, organisations for older people and emergency services. During the week the Quays will also launch an exciting car parking promotion to make shopping in the heart of the city even easier. During October and November all shoppers can avail of up to two hours parking for £1 and all day parking on Sundays for £1. On Thursday October 11 the Quays will be hosting a tea party for older people. Tickets for this event are free but must be booked in advance through Newry Senior Citizens Consortium. On Saturday customers can experience an Emergency Services Day at the centre with representatives from the Ambulance Services, PSNI, Fire and Rescue, Maritime and Coast Guard Agency and The Mourne Mountain Rescue Team. They will be giving information, demonstrations and taking some of their vehicles into the centre to give people an understanding of how these vital services operate from 12 noon to 5pm.
