Talented chefs across the island of Ireland are being challenged to put their culinary skills to the test with the launch of the inaugural ‘Ireland’s Next Top Chef’ competition.
The brand new competition, launched by the Balmoral Hotel in Belfast and supported by our member, Anjo Wines will see young, aspiring chefs from across Ireland compete in a series of culinary challenges to be crowned the island’s next culinary cooking sensation.
It will provide talented chefs with an exciting opportunity to put themselves in the spotlight and showcase their culinary talent to some of Ireland’s top industry recognised chefs and experts.
As well as the all-important title of ‘Ireland’s Next Top Chef’, the winner will receive an amazing array of prizes, including the life changing chance to be mentored by the finest culinary teams at Michelin starred restaurants including Dinner by Heston Blumenthal in London, Liath in Dublin or The Muddlers Club in Belfast.
Putting the contestants through their paces as judges will be Michelin star chef, Danni Barry, 2023 Great British Menu contestant, Kerry Roper and BBC’s Farm to Feast judge, Joris Minne.
Michelin starred chefs, Michael Deane, Dylan McGrath and Gareth McCaughey will make guest judge appearances at key stages of the competition to run their eye over the talented group of aspiring chefs.

The inaugural Ireland’s Next Top Chef Competition is open to both professional chefs and home cooks with contestants asked to submit a signature 3-course menu for judging aimed at qualifying for the live knock-out stages of the competition.
The knock-out stages will consist of a series of challenges designed to test the contestants’ culinary creativity, agility, flare and expertise. Each challenge will be judged by a panel of culinary experts, including professional chefs, food critics and industry insiders, evaluating dishes based on taste, presentation and originality.
The Grand Finale, scheduled to take place on Thursday 3rd August in Balmoral Hotel in Belfast, will be contested by the top three chefs from the knock-out stages who will compete against each other to be crowned ‘Ireland’s Next Top Chef’.
