City store picks up title

Downey’s SuperValu Newry has been awarded silver at Musgrave Retail Partners Store of the Year Award event last Friday night at the Slieve Donard Hotel Newcastle. TV personality Roy Walker hosted the event which saw Michael and David Downey’s Hill Street store pick up second place in the awards which were sponsored by Coca Cola Hellenic. SuperValu  Sales Director of Musgrave Retail Partners Nigel Maxwell said: “Congratulations to Michael David and team who were a well deserving silver award winner for SuperValu’s Store of the Year. The Store of the Year  Awards recognize the ‘best in class’ retailers in their groups and the award winners have demonstrated the highest levels of commitment to customer service and retail excellence. The recipients of these prestigious accolades were chosen from over 250 SuperValu Centra and Mace Stores that make up Musgrave Retail Partners Northern Ireland putting them at the forefront  of progressive independent retailing in the market,” he added. Musgrave Retail Partners NI (MRPNI) supports over 250 independent retail stores in Northern Ireland including SuperValu Centra and Mace with a combined turnover in excess of £600m.
