Cruise Control for Point

Sunday July 20 will be a red letter day for Warenpoint when the first ocean going cruise line will berth in the harbour. Newry and Mourne District Council, Warrenpoint Harbour Authority, Point Shipping Services are working to promote the port of Warrenpoint as a new destination for cruise ships. The Saga Pearl II will arrive in Warrenpoint Port on Sunday 20 at 8am and will depart 5pm. The cruise departs Dover July 7 has a total of 8 stops and then a 3 day sailing from Iceland to Warrenpoint. On board will be 450-500 passengers who will spend the day enjoying the sights of Warrenpoint and further afield. A full days programme of entertainment is being organised for both the passengers and the many hundreds of visitors who are expected in Warrenpoint to participate in this historic occasion. Two lucky people will have the opportunity to go on board as guests of the captain for a tour of the ship.
