MJM Buy Mivan Out of Administration

 

MJM Group and Mivan’s Combined Capacity for Specialist Joinery Manufacturing Set To Be Unequalled in Europe. 

MJM Group Chairman Brian McConville has announced he has bought Mivan out of administration. Established in 1983 by the McConville family, MJM Group is a world leader in specialist joinery manufacture and refurbishment fitout . MJM primarily operate in the marine,  Super Yachts, luxury hotel , commercial and private residential sectors.  Mivan, one of Northern Ireland’s best known construction companies, was founded by Ivan McCabrey in 1975 and specialised in fitting out cruise ships and high-end commercial and residential developments.

Earlier this week, Mivan announced that they have ceased trading but this news means that the Mivan brand will continue. 

“We are delighted that we were able to rescue the Mivan brand and bring it into the MJM Group of companies. There are obvious synergies between the two operations which will allow us great efficiencies and economies of scale. Initially we expect to create 40 to 50 jobs in Antrim from the existing local skilled workforce and we believe that, by implementing the efficient work practices that have underpinned our growth to date, we can drive the MIVAN brand back to its former glory,” said Brian McConville, Chairman of MJM Group. 

MJM Group intends to operate Mivan as a separate entity.

“MJM have built up a strong reputation as a global player in the industry and there’s exciting opportunities ahead to re-establish the Mivan brand in some existing markets and new international market also,” said McConville. 

With contracts successfully completed across five continents, MJM Group has earned a reputation for its unique fast track project management style and consistent high quality of its finished products and services.

Projects in the office and retail sector successfully completed by MJM include the Victoria Square Retail Centre in Belfast, Harrod’s in London, the University of Edinburgh and Dublin International Airport. Their impressive portfolio also includes The Mandarin Oriental, The Bulgari Hotel, The W Hotel and The Lancaster Hotel (all in London).As well as the K-Club in Co. Kildare, the Sheraton Resort at Fota Island in Cork, Fire Restaurant at the Mansion House in Dublin, 

MJM Group has built an impressive international reputation with a  Cruise client base including; Carnival Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean, The World Residensea, P&O Cruises & Star Cruises. They carried out  major re-fit works to the $150m conversion of the Carnival Destiny to Carnival Sunshine in 2013.
