Newry Chamber Executive Member is new Chair of NI’s CIPR

New Chair for CIPR Northern Ireland

Norbrook Laboratories’ Chris Love has been elected as the new Northern Ireland Chair of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR). Currently employed at Norbrook in PR and Marketing and former owner of Love PR, Chris brings with him 12 years of experience as well as 2 years’ service as a CIPR committee member.

 

Chris was voted in as Chair at the Group’s AGM held at Clifton House Belfast this week, and replaces communications manager at the Public Health Agency Gary McKeown. Attended by Public Relations professionals from the private, public and voluntary sectors, the AGM also saw the election of Chair Elect, Samantha Livingstone of RumourMill PR who will take over as Chair in 2015, and the election of an 18-strong committee charged with leading the Institute in its promotion of the Public Relations industry in NI.

 

A special Chair’s Award was also presented to committee member Lisa Hamilton-Sturdy on the night, in recognition of outstanding contribution and service to the PR industry and her work for the Northern Ireland Committee.

 

Commenting on his new role Chris Love said: “This is a great time to be taking over the helm of the CIPR in Northern Ireland.  The focus of the year will be to assist our large membership achieve their personal development goals in an ever-changing media landscape.  We will continue to work closely with the University of Ulster supporting the work of their communications courses and very much look forward to the 21st year of the CIPR NI Media Awards. “
