Newry Chamber of Commerce & Trade Hosts Gala Dinner with Norbrook CEO, Liam Nagle

Over 200 guests attended Newry Chamber of Commerce & Trade’s Gala Dinner 2016, held in the Canal Court Hotel on Wednesday 29th June with Guest Speaker, Liam Nagle, CEO of Norbrook.

This high profile event was sponsored by Ulster Bank and the Canal Court Hotel.  It was attended by dignitaries, government decision makers and distinguished guests including Ministers, Chairperson of Newry, Mourne & Down District Council, Councillors, local schools and local business leaders.  

Speaking on the success story of Norbrook, Mr. Nagle reflected on the diversity of markets that Norbrook operates in and the dedication and commitment of the organisation to become one of the leading researchers and innovators in its field worldwide. 

President Michael McKeown stated, ‘We in Newry Chamber are immensely proud of the success of Norbrook employing circa 1700 people in Newry.  From its humble beginnings, it has expanded into a global phenomenon and we welcome Liam’s very positive comments about Norbrook’s commitment to it’s future in Newry’.  

At the event, Mary Meehan, newly appointed CEO of the Chamber of Commerce thanked her predecessor Orla Jackson for her immense contribution to the Chamber and outlined her aspirations for driving future growth of the Chamber.  Mary also confirmed her commitment to ensuring that members optimise their opportunities to grow and enhance their position in the global market place through providing all the necessary services and leveraging Chamber connections throughout the EU and internationally.
