Newry Credit Union has taken a walk down memory lane back to the days when it first opened its doors in 1963. As part of a series of events planned to mark the Credit Union’s 50th, staff young and old came together to create a groovy flashback. PVC dresses, bell-bottom jeans and psychedelic prints were the order of the day as staff and members transported the building back in time. As well as this there were other fun activities such as face painting and balloon modelling making for a great family fun day to add to the celebrations of 500 years in the community. Liam Quinn President of Newry Credit Union said: “Newry Credit Union is a very big part of the community here in Newry and days like this help our staff and members get together and celebrate their achievements over the years. This is also an opportunity for us to showcase the other organisations we support such as the Newry Marathon and Newry Pantomime – two illustrious dates in the Newry Calendar.” For further information about events and activities to come, log onto www.newrycu.com or visit the new Facebook page by searching Newry Credit Union.
