Newry designer’s creative fashion

A new and upcoming young designer from Newry is creating the height of fashion in this year’s Fashion Week shows. Designer Julia Soleke’s latest Autumn Winter collection will be providing some show stopping displays this October on the Belfast catwalk. The local designer will be in good company as her pieces will grace the run way alongside other top designers and designer boutiques such as Grainne Maher, Larissa Watson, Katie Wilson and Lizzie Agnew. Director of the fashion event Cathy Martin has praised the talent of the Newry fashionista. “The Fashion Week is a great platform and first step for our young fresh talent and we are always spotting and debuting up and coming designers, so I love to see young designers like Julia come forward and bring a really new approach to the catwalk,” said Cathy. “We will be showcasing the best of our local designers and independent boutiques as well as international high street names, this Autumn the catwalk will be a sea of colour style and must have fashion. We are loving the blue hues, the coral reds, the plaid and the glorious glitter trends as well as sharp suiting and oversized coats in terms of the season’s silhouettes. We have already seen the talent Julia holds for design in her Spring Summer collection so I just can’t wait to see what Julia brings to Fashion Week this time around,” she added. The week of fashion takes place from October 15 to 19 with Julia’s collection hitting the catwalk for the second year.
